Platypus bottle modification – diy loop?

i have a platypus soft bottle and i would like to be able to hook it to the outside of my pack with a carabiner. so far a couple of interlinked zip ties seem like the easiest option (one tie around the neck just below the lip, with a loose loop to hook the carabiner to). any other ideas?

The zip ties sound good because the second loop stays open for the carabiner. I used parachute type cord tied tight around the neck of the bottle and a second loop (sort of a figure around the carabiner. I also had one with a larger outer loop for dropping over my saddle horn.
